Christmas

Uh, Ethan is not too happy ey? Ryan and Ethan with my mom last Sunday. These are the pj's she made for them.

My mom came over Sunday night and did Christmas with us. Then on Christmas Eve we went to my cousin Krista's house and had fondue and sushi and other appetizers with her family and did the nativity play, watched the nativity video, played a nativity game, and the kids colored nativity pictures. It was a Christ centered Christmas Eve. We had a good time. On Christmas morning I woke Ryan and Ben up at 8:00am then we brushed our teeth and went to see what Santa brought. At 11 am we drove out to Tooele to go to Ben's parents house and have lunch there. Then we drove to Saratoga Springs to have dinner at my Grandma Reese's house. We had a really fun eventful day!

The day after Christmas I left my house a mess because Ben had the day off, so we went to Pei Wei for lunch and looked around for some cars. (I'd really like a bigger vehicle). We haven't found the perfect deal yet. Today Ben went back to work and I had a doctor's appointment around lunch time so Ben took Ryan to lunch...Ryan really liked hanging out with just dad and when I went to pick him up he said "mom, I don't want to see you, I want to stay with dad". It hurt my feelings a little, but I'm glad he had fun with dad. Ben said he's taking tomorrow off and Monday and Tuesday for New Year's, so we get another long weekend. I'm so excited to have him home after he worked SO much the last couple of weeks.

This is Christmas morning with Ry in his Spongebob pj's. He is pretty excited about his big T-Rex and his tool set and big truck. Ethan got a really cool saucer (that he is still too little for), and some little toys and clothes.

Santa also brought Ryan and Ethan a new TV for their "house" under the stairs. Ry was really excited to have his own TV (and mom was too, no more Bob the Builder for me).

This was on Christmas Eve. We didn't have any plans, so my cousin Krista invited us to her house (she lives around the corner from me). She's the primary president in her ward so she had the kids do the sharing time nativity story. Ryan is the Shepard with the tie falling off his head.

This past week we haven't done too much, Ben's been working really late and on the weekend to get a proposal done by last Monday, then he went to St. George to submit it. So Ryan, Ethan and I have been hanging out at home.

I did get all the presents wrapped for the boys and put them under the tree. Ryan's been really excited about them, but I keep telling him he can't open them until Christmas. Yesterday when I got out of the shower, I opened my bedroom door and Ryan was sitting on the floor wearing his sponge bob pj's that were for Christmas that I had just wrapped. He looked up at me and said "thank you mom, I love them". This is the part where I'm supposed to get mad, but I couldn't, I thought it was so funny and laughed. I just made him take them off then I locked all the presents downstairs in an extra bedroom.

Also while I was in the shower yesterday (I need to stop taking showers), Ryan wanted leftover white rice and took it downstairs with a new bottle of soy sauce and dumped the whole bottle on our new carpet. We are getting it repaired, our house smells like a Chinese restaurant. It soaked the carpet and the pad, and just barely got on the cement. We love kids!!

Yesterday we went out to Mom & Dad Clegg's home because Uncle Sam came home from his mission. We didn't get a picture of Uncle Sam (oops), but we took pictures of other aunts and uncles. This is Uncle Rick and Aunt Liz Olsen holding baby Ethan. Our boys love Rick and Liz!

This is Aunt Kandis and Uncle Rob holding their little girl Raygan and Rob is holding Ethan. Raygan is 4 months and Ethan is 2 months. Two big, cute babies!

It was nice to see Sam home, he told us he didn't even know I was pregnant and had a baby until last week when mom mentioned Ethan's baby blessing. Oops, I guess we need to do better at writing missionaries.

Brag Letter

You know those letters you get every Christmas from friends and family that just say all the great things the family is up to? Well, my sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Liz and Peter, did this really funny (fake) letter. It's kind of long, but it is really funny. I hope they don't mind me posting it on here!

Hello, All! It’s time for our annual “Brag Fest”, we hope you’ll really enjoy the next few minutes reading about our wonderful lives.
Bob and Linda spent an entire 14 days in the beautiful Scotland! It was a fabulous time. Most of you probably aren’t rich enough to afford a trip like that, but we are. Bob is working for Broken Arrow Construction and is their finest employee. They really can’t function without him. Linda graduated from college with her teaching degree this last year. She loves teaching her 1st grade class at Copper Canyon Elementary where she is making millions.
Rob (29) is finishing up law school at Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA. He and his beautiful wife Kandis just had a darling baby girl, Raygan this August. She is just so precious. Kandis is a stay at home mom with their new little Angel. They are doing great and plan to move back to Tooele where Rob has a job lined out for him at the Tooele County Attorneys Office.
Ben (27) recently obtained his college degree. He graduated with honors with degrees in Bachelor of Finance and Construction Management. He has been working as a Project manager for Bach Corporation for 3 years. Ben and his stunning wife Kelly live in an expensive and large new home in Riverton with their two adorable little boys. Ryan, age 3 is a busy little guy and lots of fun. He just keeps us laughing all the time! Ethan, just born this October is a cute little guy and a joy after such a difficult pregnancy. Kelly is such a trooper. She is also a stay at home mom and loves it.
Liz (25) is our little country girl. She and her extremely handsome husband, Rick live in Faust on a cattle ranch that Rick’s grandfather established. Rick is the Ranch manager and also works as an Apprentice Electrician for his Father at ID Electric. He will begin school this fall to attain his Journeyman’s License. Liz is the mayor of Faust and has also been crowned “Ms. Faust”! Liz works as a mail lady driving the mail to the small towns of Ophir, Rush Valley and Vernon.
Jake (23) just got married this August to the lovely Shayla. They live in Tooele while Jake is attending Salt Lake Community College working towards his Bachelors in Engineering. He is a straight A student and is also working as a mechanic for Broken Arrow Inc. Shayla works as a Certified Nurses Assistant for a hospital in Salt Lake.

Sam (21) is just completing a very successful LDS mission in New Hampshire. He is expected home this month. We are really looking forward to seeing him. We’re also looking forward to seeing what kind of hot babe he marries when he returns, as we are quite certain that he’ll find a wife quickly. He has always been such a lady-killer.
Seth (19) just left to serve a full-time LDS mission. He was called to serve in the Brazil, Sao Paulo North mission. He currently is learning the difficult Portuguese language at the Mission Training Center in Sao Paulo. Seth is learning the Portuguese language so quickly; he hardly needs the MTC at all!
Peter (14) is quite the chick magnet and our little social butterfly. He is a freshman at Tooele High and has tons of friends. He plays baseball and is their star 1st baseman. Peter is a very accomplished pianist and is learning to play the organ as well. To top it all off, he is also learning to play the violin and the guitar as well!
Marshall (12) is our sports fanatic. He is so unbelievably good at all sports. He keeps us up-to-date on the statistics of each of the sports teams. Marshall is always out playing some sport and also especially loves paintball. He is a sixth grader at East Elementary and excels in all subjects, but is especially good in mathematics. He has the brains and the talent! What a lucky kid!
Maren (8) is a 3rd grader at Copper Canyon Elementary and is the smartest in her class! She reads at an 8th grade level! Maren is a Brownie in Girl Scouts and loves it. She is also enrolled in gymnastics and is so good at it! Maren is adorable and brings us so much joy.
Our family is doing very well. We hope this letter finds you all happy and healthy. Although, we’re certain that you’re not as happy as us. Or as rich. Happy Holidays!

Uncle Jud came to visit us yesterday. He just got back from Marine boot camp in San Diego. This is soon-to-be aunt Liz with Juddy pooh, and Ryan & Ethan. Welcome home Juddy!
Jud and Ryan just chillin'. Doesn't Jud kind of look like Forrest Gump? It was fun having them come over to visit.

Yesterday Ryan, Ethan and I went to go see the Bee Movie. It was better than I thought it was going to be. Ryan had to pee twice during the movie though and Ethan was sleeping in his car seat carrier. There was only one other mom there with her 2 kids, so I asked her to keep an eye on the baby while I took Ryan potty. Does that make me a bad mom? I just didn't know how I was going to hold the car seat/baby and help Ryan go potty. I guess we just need to wait for dad to go to movies. Anyway, Ben worked late last night (until midnight), and I actually cooked dinner (why I chose the night he was away, I don't know). I made marinated chicken and chicken rice and since Ryan is allergic to chicken I made him is own pork chop and white rice. So I made two meals, and a pan of brownies and did all of those dishes, all while Ben was at work. I was pretty proud of myself, but I don't think I'll be doing that again. I tried to rent Bourne Ultimatum last night and High School Musical 2, but they were sold out already...I was pretty bummed! I haven't seen HSM2 yet.
Today Ryan, Ethan and I went to lunch with Daddy at Blimpie (their ultimate club is to die for...well, not to die for, but it's really good). We didn't see him last night because we were sleeping, and we were sleeping when he left this morning. Ryan woke up crying because he wanted daddy, so we saw him at lunch. But he will be working late again tonight. We probably won't really see him until Friday. Well, that's all for now, time to get the kids down for a nap.

This was last night. Ethan was laying on the floor while I got a drink or something and Ryan layed next to him and kissed him. It was too cute!

Today Ethan had his 2 month check up. Ethan is quite a Rolly polly. This is Ryan and Ethan's pediatrician Dr. Duffy. He's a great doctor, and he even let me take his picture. Dr. Duffy says he has a lot of mom's wanting to take pictures, especially at the 2 month check up. He says at the 2 week check up, the mom's are barely with it. Ethan is a healthy boy, he is in the 97% for his length, 75 % for his weight, and 31 % for his head circumference. Little head, big body! He had to get 3 shots today, he screamed, but calmed down quickly. Ryan just kept saying "poor guy, poor guy". Now Ryan and Ethan are both taking a nap. Yea, they're both down at the same time.

We went to Ash & Audrey's yesterday so the older kids could go sledding. They had tons o fun.

Ash and Ben took Ryan, Ellie, Micah, and a neighbor boy Jason. Audrey and I stayed at their home and watched the babies, Ethan & Sarah, and watched 13 going on 30 and chatted. This is a picture of me making hot chocolate for the kids when they got home. Audrey made some delicious Cinnamon orange rolls to go with the cocoa.

Fever

Here are a couple of pictures from yesterday

I have not been feeling very great the past 3 days, and I had to go to insta-care last night with a high fever, and stomach pain. They took some blood and put an IV in (just in case I needed to go to the hospital). They said I had some sort of infection in my stomach, but didn't know what it was. So the next morning (today) they sent me to Alta View Hospital for a CT scan...has anyone had one before? They are not fun. You have to drink a half gallon of this nasty stuff with Iodine in it for an hour and a half. Then they put you in the big machine that twirls around you and put IV stuff in you that makes your veins burn. It was super fun. Anyway, turns out all I have is a UTI. Stinks that I had to have a CT scan to tell me that, but it's good that it wasn't something more serious. Thanks to my super cool Aunt Stacy who came and picked Ryan up at the hospital today and kept him with her. And thanks to my super cool husband who missed work (and his work Christmas party today...sorry hun!) to take me there and watch the baby, so I could feed him. So now I'm just taking an antibiotic and Tylenol with codeine for the pain. It's making the baby very sleepy, but it's making me feel better! Thanks Ryan for getting me pretty flowers!!

A Day Like Today

Does anyone ever have a day like today? The baby wouldn't stop crying until noon, I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I changed his bum, fed him, burped him...and he continued to cry. I finally got him to sleep on our bed, but he wouldn't stay asleep unless I was next to him. So I put Ryan down for a nap (yes, Ryan is still in his PJ's, and it's 3:30pm), well the little stink wasn't taking a nap, he was smearing Balmex creme all over the fan, the carpet, and Ethan's little dresser thing. He also put a ton of toilet paper in the toilet and clogged it...we're saving that one for daddy when he comes home. So here I am again, trying to get Ryan to take a nap, while keeping the baby asleep also (after I blog of course). Oh, did I mention I'M still in my PJ's too?

P.S. I had pictures, but for some reason my computer is being dumb (it's probably me being dumb, but it's my blog...so we'll blame the computer).

The star

Ryan had so much fun decorating the Christmas tree. He loved putting the star on the top of our tree. I put him down for a nap half way through decorating, so when he woke up we were finished. He came out and said, "Mom, it looks perfect". It was the sweetest thing a little 3 year old could say!!

Baby Blessing

Ben just blessed little Ethan this past Sunday. He did a great job! Thanks to all our friends and family that came! After church we went back to our house and had dinner. It was fun visiting with everyone. We're so grateful Ethan is in our lives now after such a hard pregnancy.
