A Race Before 30

My First Race

Ever!

(p.s. I think I run funny...although my arms look weird because I had to hold my head phones in the whole time)

I did not like the hour of waiting time before the race in the cold, but I did enjoy the race itself. And even though it was only a 5K, I still felt like a champ crossing the finish line.

Happy 30th birthday to me! 

Ah, I'm old!

We went out to my Mom's house for dinner that night. Thanks Mom for making my favorite!!

 

I love the look on Ethan's face in the photo above. He seems so pleased his Mama is having a birthday.

On Memorial Day Ben took the boys on a hike up Yellow Fork Canyon. I went birthday shopping with my Mom (thanks Mom!).  My boys are awesome hikers! And I love that they have such a great dad that takes them.

Something New

I almost look like a  professional.  But don't let the spandex fool you, I'm a beginner.

I have a really good friend who is always pushing me to be better than I am.  Since we became friends, I began baking bread, not being scared to try a new recipe, painting furniture and I started running in the morning (yes people, I said morning...like before my kids are awake).

Just a few weeks ago, I thought I'd puke after I ran a mile.  Now I'm running my first 5K on Saturday (I figure I better get my first one in, the day before I turn 30!).  To you runners, that may not be a big deal, but to me...it's huge!

You know the quote on the side of my blog? "The first time I see a jogger smiling I'll consider it." 

I was running early morning last Saturday, and the sun started to come up over the mountain, my favorite song came on, and I started to run downhill...and I got a huge grin on my face.

One Proud Mama

Ben is pretty much the best dad ever! He sent up the tent in the basement so the boys could have tent sleepover on the weekends.  

Ethan invited me to a preschool Mother's Day program.  They sang us song, gave us cute crafts, and we ate yummy food.  Ethan's preschool teacher really is the best! 

I seriously can't believe how big my little guy is getting.  Only one more year of preschool!!

After setting up the tent downstairs, Ethan wanted a tent in his room. So Ben improvised with a sheet. 

On Mother's Day I decided I wanted to sleep in.  This is what I woke up to.  Both of my boys bringing me oatmeal in bed! Adorable!

Ryan had his first grade music program the other day.  I loved all the songs.  He did such a cute job!

I also can't believe how big Ryan is getting. He'll be in 2nd grade next year...Ah!!
