Sibling Stuffing

Christmas
I'll start with what happened first.
The Harris sibling dinner on Christmas Eve's Eve (or Christmas Adam as a friend of mine calls it).
We went to Tucanos again and ate way too much food. But it was delicious.
I love when all my siblings can get together- it only happens once a year.
Where we call home:
Summer- Stansbury Park, UT
Kelly & Ben- Herriman, UT
Jud & Liz- Jacksonville, North Carolina
Brant- Taylorsville, UT
Kit & Lynzie- San Diego, California

Kit loves the girls. Always has to be in the pictures!

Hot stuff! (I mean Ben)

Liz, Lynzie, Summer, Kit, Kelly

The girls, I had to do my famous hand on hip pose (just for Ben, he loves it).

Can't wait for next year.

Yummy Treats

Fudge Revel Bars
(I got this recipe from a blog, and completely forgot which one)
They are yummy, trust me.
1 c. butter
2 eggs (I used 4 T. applesauce)
2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp.baking soda
2 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. quick oats
Cream together the butter, brown sugar, and eggs. Add the vanilla. Add the salt, baking soda, and flour. Mix. Add oats and mix well. Press 2/3 of the dough into a greased cookie sheet.

Fudgey Goodness
1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 pkg milk chocolate chips
1 Tbsp. Butter
1/2 tsp salt

Put all into a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 1 minute and stir. Keep cooking at 30 second increments and stirring until melted. Pour over the dough and spread out. Sprinkle the rest of the dough over the fudge. Bake at 350 for 20 min.

The boys and I ate some before I took a picture.
Also, the pretzel things are a fabulous new thing my friend gave me the "recipe" to.
Twisted mini pretzels
Hershey's hugs
Holiday M&M's
(Christmas, Halloween, Easter, Valentines Day)

Preheat oven to 200 degrees
Put the pretzels on a (Pam sprayed) cookie sheet, put unwrapped hugs on top
Put in oven until chocolate melts (for my oven it was about 7 mins)
Remove from oven
Put one M&M on top of hug/pretzel immediately
Yum!

Our Trip to the Library

Welcome to a free advertisement for the Herriman City Library.
It...is...Rad!

I just finished Finals, so a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders and my boys were in a big need of getting out of the house. They wanted to go to the library. You should all check it out (if you live around Herriman, that is).

We really could sit here all day!

We love our new Library!

p.s. does anyone know where I can get egg substitutes, so I can make sugar cookies with my kids?

Ginger Temple

This last Friday was perfect weather for our annual go to the temple lights. It felt pretty darn warm (like 42 degrees-ish).
Thankfully we were able to get Rob & Kandis to go with us last minute.
Here is what we do:
Meet at the Gateway and let the kids choose where to eat in the food court.
Then we ride trax to temple square. See the lights, get hot chocolate, and ride the train back to Gateway. We love it. We might have to do it again, I'm already sad it's over!

We're awesome. (I rolled the top of my boots down...much better.)

Ben's brother Rob & Family

Waiting for the train, drinking hot chocolate. These boys are the cutest! They were so good, and so grateful to be able to go. They love this tradition.

Ben made a gingerbread house with the boys.
We let them do the candy by themselves, it was so adorable.
I LOVE Christmas time!

Thanksgiving in Idaho

We braved the bad roads this year and drove to Idaho to have Thanksgiving with my Grandparents & Aunt & Uncle. We are glad we made the drive. We had a great time in Grandpa's cabin with only 9 of us there for Thanksgiving...it was perfect!

Uncle Scott & Aunt Nina

Uncle Scott is a big tease. Ryan kept pestering him, so Uncle Scott took him outside and threw him in the snow!

Grandma Carolyn & Grandpa Harris spoiled the kids, giving them chocolate frosted flakes and hot chocolate for breakfast. There is nothing like a little sugar in the morning.

It was 0 degrees outside, so we opted to stay in. Burrr!!

Ryan built a train out of dominos. Isn't that awesome?

Ryan was always snuggling with Great Grandma Carolyn. Here he is saying goodbye. He was so sad.

Ethan always had something on his face. Grandma & Grandpa spoiled them, and let them eat whenever they wanted.

We can home to these cute turkeys from a girl in our primary class.
Love it!
(cute idea, right?)

Ugly

I broke down and bought me some fake UGGs (from Costco). And why did they get that name? Because the wife of the maker of UGGs thought they were ugly. True story.
I couldn't agree more. But, it's like being in Mexico in the winter time for my feet.
So I deal with them being ugly.

p.s. Ben totally thinks I bought them because they are "trendy". I did not. As mentioned above, I think they are ugly. I think girls must finally be realizing it's more important for their feet to be comfortable than pretty...I know, it's a stretch right?
