Chicken Challenge

The allergy testing: If you are a 2 or below (the size of the Hive), you are not considered allergic. If you are a 3 or above you are allergic. A 10 is considered very high. With Eggs Ryan is a 100 and with Nuts he is around a 20. Both extremely high. And a Lima Bean is a 17 (weird huh?). At least Ryan has an excuse not to eat them. Anyway, Ryan scored a 1 with chicken. So we scheduled a Chicken Challenge a.k.a. go to the doctor's with plain chicken and sit there for 3 to 4 hours while Ryan eats it over time. Above is dose 3 and 4 of 4. My mom came out to watch Ethan because I knew he would not make it in a small office for that long. Thanks Mom!

We brought lots of stuff for Ryan to do. Here he is coloring to pass the time.

And here he said he was tired so he was going to take a nap. We also read books, played with a Thomas computer, and played "Go Fish" several times. Ryan was really great. And he passed the test. He can now eat chicken and I am SO excited!! We are going tonight to eat Chicken Nuggets (Ryan's choice). He is so happy! Oh, and Ethan's chicken test came back negative so I was able to try the chicken at home. Ethan ate one piece and did fine, but after the second piece he decided he doesn't like chicken and kept spitting it out. But I think he'll warm up over time. Ethan has NEVER had chicken before. Anyway, as you can tell, we are all really excited to have more than just Beef and Pork at our house. Next we get to try Turkey!

Ryan's preschool class got to dress up for Halloween today. Here they are with Miss M. Ryan does not look happy, but it's because he was shivering. It has been SO freaking cold around here. Hopefully it will warm up for Halloween. Ryan is the pirate on the top left.

Seth Is Home & New Nieces

Sunday we went to Tooele for Ben's Brother Seth's Un-Homecoming (since they're not called homecomings anymore). He was serving in Brazil and got home last Thursday. It has been great seeing him and having him home.
Ben and I have 2 new Nieces born 2 days apart. This is the first time I met them. Above is us with Sam & Shalleece's baby Zella.

Ethan loves babies. He was giving baby Zella kisses.

Ethan under Grandma's table.

Ethan was pooped. It was a long day, so he took a nap on Grandma Linda. So sweet!

Me with Baby Malin. Rob & Kandis' new baby girl.

I was in heaven holding the 2 baby girls. They are both beautiful. We're so happy they are here and healthy. I love being an Aunt!

Ryan hates his picture taken so we had to snap this when he wasn't looking. He's funny!

The last time Seth held Ethan, Ethan was 3 weeks old. It has been fun having Seth around. Welcome home!

Lynzie's Bridal Shower

Cousin Sylia, Jonelle, & Stefany

Summer and I threw my future sis-in-law a bridal shower at my house last Friday night. We all had a great time. We ate food, talked, laughed and didn't play any dumb games! :-) Congrats Kit and Lynzie. Thanks to everyone who came. Here are a few pictures from the party.

Aunt Stacy & Sydney

Cousin Nichelle & Aunt Debbie.

Sister Lynzie & Sister Summer

Cousin Lindsay & Whitney

Cousin Leslie & Aunt Mindy (we count Mindy as an Aunt...not my mom's cousin).

Grandma Reese & Mom

Lynzie's Mom, Cindy and Sister Lacey

We had a super awesome time. And thanks to my uncle Pog (lives across the street) who crashed the party. He felt there needed to be some testosterone at my house (really he just wanted some dessert).

And thanks to Ben who took our cute boys to Carl's Jr and to "Where the Wild Things Are". I appreciate you watching them during the party. I know they had a great time with Dad.

I Broke a Nail

My new Fall wreath. Love it!

On our way down from Idaho this Summer we stopped at a convenience store. We found this delicious candy popcorn and have not been able to find it since then. Ethan and I found it at Tai Pan today. It is delicious! Ethan was so excited to call Ben and tell him we found his popcorn!

The boys and I waited for an hour on Tuesday for Ethan to get the H1N1 vaccine. This may not look like a lot of people but it is I promise. Usually when I come for an appointment with their pediatrician, we are the only ones there, or close to the only ones.

I broke a nail. Can you believe it? Look how long that sucker was! It was torn below the skin line. OUCH!

As you can tell (with my lack of many posts), I have not had my creative blog juices flowing lately. Hopefully I'll get my juice back soon. Until then, you have to deal with me blogging about a broken nail.

They're Stealing My Blood

Cute little Ethan likes to play baseball. But it's not complete without his baseball hat.

Ryan had his allergy testing today. He might be able to have chicken and turkey, we have to give him some to eat and see how he does. He is still HIGHLY allergic to Eggs and Nuts. They also pricked his back to see if he could get the flu shot...he is allergic to that. He can not have the flu shot. With his asthma, getting the flu would be very bad. Hopefully he does okay this winter. He did so well at the doctors office. We were in the office for 2 hours (that's an eternity with 2 kids). I had to wrap my arms and legs around him when he had his blood drawn but that was it. On the way out he started crying and I asked if he was okay, he said, "no the doctor stole my blood, they need to give it back". HAHA! It was very comical! I explained that they needed it to help his allergies and that if he drank a big drink his body would replace his blood. He didn't seem convinced. I laughed until I stopped.

Ethan and Ryan on Ethan's birthday. Blowing out the candles.

Ben and I got to go on a date the other night. We ate at one of our favorite places. Five Guys Burgers and Fries! This is a shout out to my Grandpa Harris in Rigby, Idaho. We ate fries from your town!! Hurray Rigby!

My Baby is Two!

My Aunt Syd, my Mom, and I at the Salt Lake Temple waiting for my cousin Lindsey to come out (after she got married).

Me, sister Summer and bro-in-law Jarom.
Lindsey had a dinner that night but Ryan had a soccer game so Ben took Ryan to the game and I went by myself to the dinner. So here is proof I was a third wheel...with more than one couple. :-) Thanks guys for hanging out with me.

And my awesome cousin Shane with his super awesome wife Jonelle. I love these guys!
We had the best table for sure! They had great music that night and we just had a good time.

Today is Ethan's second birthday. I really can't believe my baby is two. We took him to a movie on Saturday and went to dinner with my parents. Thanks Grandma & Grandpa for the cool blocks!

Ethan and Grandpa Harris. Ethan loves his Grandpa!

Our traditional Eggs Benedict breakfast for Conference morning. Yummy!

Ethan loves his bike helmet. He wears it whenever he can.
Here are some of my favorite words that Ethan says:
Not Nice
Waffle (my all time favorite)
Mail (he likes to get the mail with me)
Bear
Dog
Will (Ryan's friend)
Good
Dad
Mom
Please
Popcorn
Taco
Water
Bye Movie (after we leave a movie he waves and says "bye movie)
Bye Ry Ry (When we drop Ryan off at preschool)

Ryan and Ethan

My mom has wood puzzles at her house and Ethan loves them. So I found some at Target. He is doing them as I write this blog. It's great!

Happy Birthday Ethan. You make us so happy. We love you very much!

He Answered My What??

Before any of you read this. If you do not know me very well, please know I have a very juvenile sense of humor.

When Ben gets home late at night he is exhausted. I feel bad for the poor guy. But even if he is not dead tired he still falls asleep in like 30 seconds...while I'm over there for at least an hour trying to get my brain to shut off. With the 30 second thing, if I stop talking for a minute...he is out! What that means is that he has gotten used to me saying something a minute later and him mumbling, "What?". Well the other night was different. Ben feel asleep, and about 5 minutes later I farted (yes I just admitted that). Ben then replied...after the fart, "What?". I could NOT stop laughing. It was hilarious. I said, "Ben, did you just answer my fart?". (maybe I should say toot for those of you more sensitive folks? Like I said very juvenile...not lady like at all!?).
