Christmas After Christmas

My Mom had Christmas at her house the day after Christmas.  It was awesome, and I hope that we do that every year!  It made it so all of my siblings could be together, and my Mom could see us all in the PJ's she made.  We brought snacky foods and had French Dip for dinner, and opened presents and played games.

Thanks Mom for the great Christmas!

Uncle Kit brought back a key chain for the kids with Kangaroo hair on in from Australia.

I think Lizzy and Jud liked the present we gave them!  Happy Baby!!
If it's a girl, they're naming her, Kelly. If it's a boy, they're naming him Kelly.
HA! Not really.
My Dad was not able to be here on Christmas, but we Skyped with him while we opened presents.  This was my dad's gift to my mom.  I think she was a little surprised.

Super Original Christmas Post "Christmas 2011"

Thankfully we had a brief relief (haha, I'm a poet) of sickness for Christmas Day this year.  Christmas Eve we spent it with our family of 4 just like last year.  We made it a tradition to hang out with just our family of 4 so we can focus on our kids more and start new traditions.  Well, traditions are a work in progress. Last year we cooked all day for 2 kids who hardly ate anything.  So this year we went to a movie then took ourselves to Cafe Rio, it was cheaper, better food, and much less work.  Then we rented a movie and did Christmas crafts when we got home.  We had the kiddos change into their new Christmas PJ's, we talked about Jesus' Birth, made special sleeping potion (hot chocolate with marshmallows and a candy cane) and left out cookies for Santa, and oatmeal for the reindeer.

Do you ever wonder why we clean before big holidays? Just for the room to look like it does after the holiday? (see last photo)

Opening Christmas PJ's

Having our Sleeping Potion in our Greenbay colored cups.

Finding the 1 toy Santa brought.  A Kindle Fire Tablet.  Yeah, Santa spoiled them.

Last year they got the big pillow pets, this year they wanted the baby pillow pet.  Maybe next year pillow pet will come out with a talking one, so we'll have to buy that too.

We had the boys shop for each other this year too. I think they had a lot of fun looking for a present for each other, and deciding what they'd like.  Ethan bought Ryan a Star Wars Lego set.

Ryan bought Ethan a Captain America disc throwing shield.

Gotta love the no make-up, Christmas morning shot.  (Cute pj's though right?)

Ben...even when he just wakes up, looks handsome.

Ryan playing with his legos, and watching a movie on his Tablet at the same time.  Like I said, spoiled.  (How do you not spoil your kids??)

And the after Christmas mess.

For breakfast we did fruit crepes and egg/spinach  & hash-brown crepes. They are always a hit, and we will continue the crepe tradition for breakfast.
After we ate breakfast, we went out to Tooele for lunch at Mom & Dad Clegg's house...and saw his family.
Then we made a trip to Saratoga Springs to see my Grandma & Grandpa.  My Grandma has pancreatic cancer, and I imagine this would have been her last Christmas.  It's kind of surreal.  She has always been so young, and strong, and willing to do anything.  It's hard to see her struggle.  Ryan is off track now, so we'll go visit her again soon.

Anyway, Merry Christmas!! I hope you all had a fabulous time.
One day we'll mail Christmas cards...one day.

Happy Belated Thanksgiving!

Wow, it's been a while since my last post.  It's cool, I know y'all still love me.
I am out of school now, and I am so relieved.  The day I took my last final, Ryan got the flu and was sick for a whole week, then Ethan got sick, then Mom got sick (and missed the Clegg sibling dinner), then Christmas came and went, then Ben got sick.  So yay for us!  That is why I have not been posting. It's been crazy.  I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas.  We did.  Here are a few pictures to catch up on, and I might do a Christmas post another day...it depends on how motivated I am.

Seeing Breaking Dawn with some friends,
Jen & Sherrie

I did not get many photos of Thanksgiving. I kept sneaking off to study for a test.  Way to enjoy the moment Kell.
Grandma Linda brought this marble thing that the cousins liked playing with.
Malin, Ethan, Raygan, Zella, & Jackson

 Ryan

Ethan got to go to the Sweet's Candy Factory on a tour for preschool.  We had so much fun! Miss Linda is the best! Seriously, the best preschool teacher ever!

This is me, with my super hot husband, Ben.  We went to my annual Sibling dinner at Tucanos again. We love that place...I love the grilled pineapple.
I really enjoy having all of my siblings together. We are crazy!

Ben enjoyed his annual Sibling dinner at Cafe Trang. He also likes getting together with his siblings.  I just felt bad I threw up right before I picked up the babysitter and could not make it!!

Merry Christmas!
(Christmas post to come...)

I Got Skill - at least I tell myself that

If you need a Relief Society Enrichment Night idea:
Our Relief Society Meeting turned out pretty darn cute I think.  That darn fabric was super expensive...I don't sew, so I was not sure how much I should spend.  Oh well, I'll make a quilt out of it one day.  The original plan was to put real shoes on the table...I had to put my foot down and say no way, that's gross.  Here is what I came up with.  (If you need to borrow shoe pictures, let me know).
I'm only posting this because I had a few friends who wanted to see the pictures.
The theme was, "Walk in Her Shoes".  Hence all the shoes...
(Invitation at the bottom)

Thanks to my friend Diana who made this super cute invitation for me! (she's a pro, why mess that up and do it myself??)
We had Cafe Rio Pork Salads & had President Peterson speak to us.  I think it turned out pretty good.  Everyone helped with the food, and it was delicious!

Skippy Jon Jones

Remember Pete the Cat?
Now it's Skippy Jon Jones.
Ryan had a lot of fun with Skippy!
We took him to the grocery store, he even got to check out our groceries.  We played on a 1000 lb. Pumpkin. Went to a Utah game (they won!), We took him trick-or-treating.  And we took him to the movies.  Skippy loves Popcorn & Soda!

Boo/Pumpkin/Cider/Costume Time 2011 aka HALLOWEEN

Excited to go trick-or-treating with good friends.

Carving pumpkins with Dad (and Skippy Jon Jones...post coming soon)

Ben and I tag teamed trick-or-treating this year. I went around with my super pregnant friend (she was having her baby the next day) until she got tired, then we switched and the dad's went with the kiddos.
Who does not love Halloween?  I love the smells, the leaves blowing all around, the crisp air, the fall colors.

We love our friends!

Now the dads are going out.  Ethan and Porter were done and wanted to stay home.
We passed out Full-Size Candy Bars this year.  I actually don't want to do that again.  I felt like we got hit pretty hard this year, and I think the word will get out and we'll have older kids coming by late while we're trying to get our kids to sleep.  Maybe when the kids are older we'll do it again...

We all went to the Haunted House in the neighborhood - Eth was a little nervous.

Ethan went trick-or-treating to his preschool teacher's house and she was so excited because he was her 100th trick-or-treater (really - she kept track) so he got a big back of gummy worms.

We love Halloween around here.  Sad to see it's over for another year, but...
bring on Christmas!
(yes, I know we have a holiday called Thanksgiving...I consider it more of an extension of Christmas)

Halloween Parade & Other Randomness

Ryan's drawing I found.  Can you tell who it is?
Wall E & Eva (Eva is transferring the plant into her...belly?)
Ryan is pretty much a professional.

Who does not love a self portrait with a shiny forehead??
