Dress Up

Ethan has two cute girl friends across the street he likes to play with. They are together almost every day. The girls like to play princess dress up and they asked Ethan to join them. So he dresses up as a pirate.
This was them taking a break on our neighbors deck eating popsicles. Is there anything cuter than this??

My boys like crazy pictures of them sometimes. This time was, "Mom, can you take a picture of us with our stuffed animals?"

Text Tickle

Short Story:

I got a text message from Ben the other night, it read: Tickle Tickle Tickle

I asked him what that was all about and he said, "I just sent you a Text Tickle".

Seriously, he's a goober sometimes. I guess that's why I married him.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to the best Father's I know. My father-in-law (above). Really, I just call him Dad, he's like a second father to me and not an "in law". I have the best Father-in-law ever, just ask me.

And to my own Father. He is always there when you need him. He has been such an awesome grandpa to my boys, and I love being around him. Thanks Dad for being so great!

And to the best Father I know. My Husband.
(above with Ryan, below with Ethan)

He is so good to these boys. He plays with them, wrestles with them, gives them lots of hugs and kisses, teaches them so much, and takes days off of work just to spend time with them.
I have been so sick this weekend, so even today, on Father's Day he took care of the kids, and took care of me. I bought all the stuff to make a nice breakfast and dinner, and he ended up doing it. I feel really guilty about it, but the guilt has come from me because he hasn't made me feel bad once. I told him we'd have a "make up" Father's Day when I feel better.

So Happy Father's Day to the best Dads ever!!

Busy Saturday

Last Saturday was a busy day for us. We did lots of fun things all in one day.
First we went to the Herriman Days Parade. We found a great spot, and scored tons of candy, and didn't have too many people around us. It was awesome.
The boys loved picking up the candy and t-shirts and Mom loved getting the coupons. :-)

My boys love waving to Police Officers.

Picking put the loot.

Awesome right? The jeeps all rode up on each others tires.

This was our friends' float (they live across the street from us). He is an eye doctor in Herriman. Ben went over early in the morning to help hang those signs on the float.

Chick-fil-A Yum!

I love parades! And I can't wait for the 4th of July!

After the Parade the boys and I rode up to Heber for a family reunion.
Above: Me, Mom, Grandma Reese, Sister Summer
The boys had a lot of fun outside all day. They played at the park, threw water balloons, got more candy from the candy cannon, had snow cones, played giant twister.

In the snow cone line.

After the reunion we went to eat dinner then headed to the Bees Baseball game. The Bees went overtime to 12 innings! And we waiting until the very end because then there were fireworks!! By the end of the night we were all pooped!
Have I told any of you I love this time of year? I love parades, fireworks, BBQ's, good food, warm weather. Seriously, I don't know what I love more, the 4th of July or Christmas??

The Pit

Ben took the day off last Friday to spend time with the family. We had such a great day.
We first went to the Kennecott Copper Pit/Mine. The kids thought it was so cool. They loved all the huge trucks. I can't believe this is right by our house and this is the first time we've taken the boys to see it.

My boys being crazy again.
These tires cost $50,000 every 7-9 months!
The huge trucks get 1/3 mile per gallon!

Dad and the boys.

After this we picked up lunch from Village Baker and went to that super cool Veteran's Memorial Park and had a picnic and played.
When we got home we went to Ethan's baseball game then to the Ward BBQ.
We had a fun family day, with little/no meltdowns. Yay!

I Didn't Shower Today...And I Like It

I get more done when I don't shower. Seriously.
This is what I have done today:
Went to a friends house (stinky and all) because Ethan ran over there after I said, No. We ended up chatting for an hour.
Had some little friends over at our house for an hour.
Did all my dishes.
Vacuumed my floors.
Did a few loads of laundry.
Scrubbed two bathrooms.
Cleaned Kitchen
Picked up the endless mounds of toys. (except in the bonus room, I refuse to touch that...I don't play with the toys up there...why should I clean it??).
Played a game with the kiddos.
Made lunch & I'm going to make lasagna for dinner (crap I better get on that).
4 blog posts in one day.

See, I'm super woman...only if I don't shower.

Confession:
It takes me 2 full hours to shower/blow dry hair/make up/curl hair.
That...is...too...long.

How do you cut down on getting ready time?

I know I could get up at 6 a.m. and get it over with, but I'm honest with myself...I know that will never happen.
So some days - it's nice to be dirty.

Just Me and My Boys

I was cleaning the house one day when I noticed it was very quiet. I went to look for Ethan and I found him in his bed. He put himself down for a nap. He's so sweet! I guess I should have known he was so tired. oops!

Ryan has been off track for 4 weeks (he goes back tomorrow), so we've been trying to find fun stuff to do. Last week I took the boys to the Gateway, we rode trax to to Church's Children's Museum, then rode trax back to the Gateway and ate lunch. It was a hit, and did not cost that much money.

I love doing fun things with my boys. It sure beats sitting at home.

A Day Off From Real Life

Our friends invited us up to their Cabin in the Heber area last week. We had a great time spending the day with them relaxing and letting the kids play outside.

Paul, Porter, Courtney, Ryan, Logan, Ethan

The boys sword fighting

After the cabin, they took us to Paul's dad's house because...
he owns a Zebra
and a buffalo
and a pony/donkey looking thing
crazy right?

The kids thought it was super cool.

Stuff I Should Have Blogged About a While Ago

My Birthday
My cute friend Diana (above: Diana, Kelly, Cari) made me Mango Chicken Salad for lunch on my birthday. And my cute friend Courtney made me french toast for breakfast.
My other cute friend Britni (I have lots of cute friends) took me for a mani/pedi.
My friends sure did take care of me this year. I don't know how I scored the coolest friends, but I did.

Grandpa's Cabin

My Grandparents are cool - just ask me.

We went to my Grandpa's in Rigby, Idaho a few weeks ago. We always love going up there. We have not been up since we spent Thanksgiving with them. We wish we could go more often.
Here are Ryan and Ethan by the guest house.

Here is a list of things we did while we were up there:
Roasted Marshmallows by their fire
4 Wheeling
Bodies exhibit in Idaho Falls with Grandma (awesome)
Played Games
Roasted Hot Dogs
Had 4 desserts in one night --We decided to make a dutch oven cake, smores, root beer floats, and Grandma made us Rhubarb Strawberry pie because we've never tried rhubarb before. We were stuffed!
We did a whole lot of just hanging out with Grandma & Grandpa

Grandpa showing us his skills.

Ben helped Grandpa chop some wood.

My boys are crazy

Me & Gramps - love him!

Can you believe that river is in their backyard?
