Super Original Christmas Post "Christmas 2011"

Thankfully we had a brief relief (haha, I'm a poet) of sickness for Christmas Day this year.  Christmas Eve we spent it with our family of 4 just like last year.  We made it a tradition to hang out with just our family of 4 so we can focus on our kids more and start new traditions.  Well, traditions are a work in progress. Last year we cooked all day for 2 kids who hardly ate anything.  So this year we went to a movie then took ourselves to Cafe Rio, it was cheaper, better food, and much less work.  Then we rented a movie and did Christmas crafts when we got home.  We had the kiddos change into their new Christmas PJ's, we talked about Jesus' Birth, made special sleeping potion (hot chocolate with marshmallows and a candy cane) and left out cookies for Santa, and oatmeal for the reindeer.

Do you ever wonder why we clean before big holidays? Just for the room to look like it does after the holiday? (see last photo)

Opening Christmas PJ's

Having our Sleeping Potion in our Greenbay colored cups.

Finding the 1 toy Santa brought.  A Kindle Fire Tablet.  Yeah, Santa spoiled them.

Last year they got the big pillow pets, this year they wanted the baby pillow pet.  Maybe next year pillow pet will come out with a talking one, so we'll have to buy that too.

We had the boys shop for each other this year too. I think they had a lot of fun looking for a present for each other, and deciding what they'd like.  Ethan bought Ryan a Star Wars Lego set.

Ryan bought Ethan a Captain America disc throwing shield.

Gotta love the no make-up, Christmas morning shot.  (Cute pj's though right?)

Ben...even when he just wakes up, looks handsome.

Ryan playing with his legos, and watching a movie on his Tablet at the same time.  Like I said, spoiled.  (How do you not spoil your kids??)

And the after Christmas mess.

For breakfast we did fruit crepes and egg/spinach  & hash-brown crepes. They are always a hit, and we will continue the crepe tradition for breakfast.
After we ate breakfast, we went out to Tooele for lunch at Mom & Dad Clegg's house...and saw his family.
Then we made a trip to Saratoga Springs to see my Grandma & Grandpa.  My Grandma has pancreatic cancer, and I imagine this would have been her last Christmas.  It's kind of surreal.  She has always been so young, and strong, and willing to do anything.  It's hard to see her struggle.  Ryan is off track now, so we'll go visit her again soon.

Anyway, Merry Christmas!! I hope you all had a fabulous time.
One day we'll mail Christmas cards...one day.

My Grandma was just diagnosed with pancreatic cancer back in October, it is so sad to see them suffer.
