Easter Weester

We had a really great Easter Weekend this year. It was nice and relaxing. I love when Conference falls on Easter Sunday.
Here are my cute boys dying Easter Eggs. Yes, Ryan is allergic to eggs...we don't let him touch them at all. We put the egg on his spoon and he lowers it in. Then we sanitize the table and his scrub his hands.

Ryan was in my room at 2 a.m. saying that the Easter Bunny had come. I told him to go back to sleep and not wake up until 7. Well, he was up every 30 minutes until 7 saying, "Mom, is it time to go find eggs yet?"
We had a talk with the boys about the meaning of Easter. We told him what "resurrection" meant. (About Jesus coming back to life). And he said, "you mean like Optimus Prime?" Classic!

Here are the boys walking down the hall to see what the Easter Bunny had left.

Ryan coloring a dinosaur on his new easel. And might I add that his dinosaur is awesome and WAY better than what I could have drawn. My dinosaur would have been a stick figure.

Dad helped Ryan build a jet with his Tinker toys.

Handsome Ryan posing before finding Easter Eggs.

Cute little Ethan coloring on the easel.

Also, I did not post Ryan's first loose tooth in December. He lost his first tooth on Christmas Eve, so Santa and the Tooth Fairy came on the same night. Ben said maybe Santa and the Tooth Fairy would fight if they got their at the same time...Ryan said, "well, Santa would win".

So here he is with his second tooth. They are the two bottom front teeth. The tooth is tiny, but it's in the bag he's holding. Pulling teeth kind of freaks me out a little. Ryan wanted Grandma Linda (Ben's Mom) to do the first tooth (on Christmas Eve), and he was trying so hard to wait until Easter so Grandma Linda could pull his second one also. Sorry it didn't last that long Ry! Mom had to do it this time.

The Journey of the Yard

Some of you may remember this photo (above) from last year. It's the Before photo.
We are slowly working on our yard. It will be a long journey that's for sure. I'll be posting new photos as we do more work.

Here is the After.
So far we hauled in 8 truck loads of dirt. We're trying to make the front yard flat with a retaining wall along the front edge.

In the back yard the builders of the home left a huge pile of construction garbage in our back yard. Yuck huh? I wouldn't be surprised if there were snakes back there.
(above) They are removing the pile
(below) The pile has been removed. Yea!

And cute Ethan playing with his mini skid steer. The boys loved watching all the dump trucks come to our house.

Yard: To be Continued...

Relay For Life

I'm really excited to participate in the Relay For Life this year in Tooele County. As some of you may know my sister is a survivor of Cancer. She has been in remission for a few years now, and we're grateful every year she comes back cancer free. I am running/walking the Relay for Life with my sister and for my sister. And for all others who have been affected by cancer. I would appreciate any donations you can contribute to the American Cancer Society. I understand times are tough right now, so if you can not, I totally understand. Please help if you can.

Click Here to go to my personal page to donate.

Thanks to all my super awesome friends who have already donated! It really means a lot to me!

Reason #57

Reason I hate doing laundry # 57

All 5 pairs of pants Ryan owns are on the floor the day after I fold them all and put them in his drawer.
Why not just leave them clean on the laundry room floor?

Next Photo:
Is someone trying to send me a hint?

It was addressed to ME.

No, I don't have a hard time getting pregnant, I just don't want to be.
I'm grateful for the 2 wonderful boys I have, and I'm happy.

Elmo & Friends

Ethan had 2 of his cute friends over to play today. Ryan is usually the one with the friends over so it was nice for Ethan to have a play-date this time. These are his friends, Luke & Madison...they are the cutest twins ever! The Elmo's were a hit, I had to replace all the batteries first...then they were a hit. :-) This picture was not posed either. They were all running around the chair with their Elmo's and stopped together to take a break. Ethan does not look happy, but I promise he is.

More playing with the Elmo's.

And Ryan, replacing the batteries in his clock & watching the kids run around. It was a fun morning. Now Ryan is at school and Ethan is taking a nap...then off to the store for us (does anyone else feel like they live at the store??).

Too Smart

While holding Ethan in the rocking chair, trying to get the boys in bed, this was mine and Ryan's conversation:

Ryan: "Mom, can you play a card game with me?"

Mom: "Not tonight Ryan, it's already past your bedtime, but if you'd like I'll read you a story"

Ryan: "Well Mom, by the time you read me a story, you would have had time to play a card game"

Mom: (Thinking) What can I say to that? "Ryan, you're right, go get the card game"

What's a Mom to do when her boy is too smart for her??

Holy Weird Post

I have total random things to post this time. I hope you can follow along. We have not been up to anything super exciting so here is what has happened in the past couple of weeks:

We picked Dad up at work so we could go to lunch at Denny's (who doesn't love pancakes for lunch?). The kids miss him so we try to go to lunch once a month.

Dad and Ethan waiting for their food.

Mom & Ryan waiting for ours.

I have NEVER had one bad thing to say about my favorite store, Target...until now!! I guess it's more the PEOPLE who do not put their dang carts back because they are so LAZY. Heaven forbid they walk 25 ft!!

Ryan's been playing indoor soccer the past month. He likes his team, he's playing with a few neighbor kids. He still hates to play. They made him be the "goalie" just so he does something. Maybe one day he'll be into sports.

I have a friend whose husband is gone over night every Monday so we have been getting together for Dinner sometimes. It has been a lot of fun, and it's nice not to be alone on one of the weeknights. This is Kate, my friend's daughter. She is also in mine and Ben's primary class. Ben teases (a nice tease, not a mean tease) her all the time and says he loves playing with American Girl Dolls like she does, so she brought them to our house so I could take a picture for Ben to see. Ethan loves Kate. He kept following her around all night. When I put Ethan to bed he was talking more than usual saying, "Kate, Ball, Dinosaurs, Kate, Catch, Trains, Kate". Such a ladies man.

Ethan wasn't feeling so well the other day, so this was the result...

Ben and I have been faithfully doing P90X at night when he comes home (yes, very late). This is our make-shift work out room in our basement. Ben bought Gym Mats that have helped a ton! (don't mind the mess in the background).

Our pull-up bar.

Utah weather is so freaking weird! We had snow the other day with HUGE flakes. The kids went outside to catch them on their tongues.
Then today it's nice and sunny and about 55 degrees. We went for a nice walk with just light jackets on. Awesome!

So there.
