I really am that ditsy

We went to our next door neighbor's house, Lowell & Cheryl, for dinner/Halloween party the other night. Ryan and Ethan both dressed up in their costumes. Ethan is a cow, a Holstein dairy cow (black and white). We were sitting around the table and Ethan was in the highchair and Lowell says, "if you take off the ears/horns, he could be a Dalmatian dog". To which I replied, "yeah, or he could be a cow".

The other story: After we got home from the Zoo last week I told Ben that riding the train freaks me out a little because you ride right through the buffalo and they are not fenced in. I said to Ben, "what if the buffalo ram the train?". Then Ben says, "yeah Kelly, that's really how they died back in the day. It wasn't from people shooting them for food, it was because they kept ramming those darn trains".

Ben later asked me if I fake being so ditsy, and I said, "no Ben, I really am that ditsy".

Zoo in October

I will probably not go to the Zoo in the Summertime again. I love the Zoo in October. The weather was perfect. Slightly cool. It was not busy at all. And all the animals were out and active, unlike during the Summer. We were able to stay longer than 2 hours because we all weren't so miserable and hot.

My boys on the train. They did not want to sit with me, I was the lone wolf, or ranger...maybe a tiger....yeah, the lone tiger.

Me and the kids in front of the train.

This picture is out of order, but we were on our way to the boys' allergy appointment at 8 am and Ryan saw the sunrise and said to me, "mom it's beautiful take a picture and put it on your blog". So I of course had to take a picture and put it on my blog.

The leopards are usually not out in the sun close to the window because it's so hot. This was neat to see it so close.

This was me taking a rest.

Cute Ryan on the Lion (dude, that ryhmed).

I think this is self explanitory.

Same as above

Little Ethan riding the big gorilla.

I thought this picture was funny. I took it and they all looked different ways.

Ryan on the Zebra. I did not intend for his shirt to match.

I make Ben take the boys into the reptile building. I do not like snakes, and I cannot be in buildings that smell. It reminds me of being pregnant and puking. So I wait for 20 minutes and let them explore. In the meantime...I get a little bored, thus the picture.

High School Tag

I wasn't technically tagged for this, but I wanted to do it anyway...probably because I'm awesome.

High School Tag
1. Did you date someone from your school? Uh yeah, I went on lots of dates. Ben (the husband) took me out on my first date, then he graduated and moved onto college girls. Then the other that was a "boyfriend" (I always hated that word) was Tanner McInnes.
2. What kind of car did you drive? My dad's old Bronco, then a Red Ford Escort, then a tan Honda Accord.
3. Were you a party animal? If you consider a "party" with pizza and Pepsi, you bet I was.
4. Were you considered a flirt? I don't think so. But who knows
5. Were you in band, orchestra or choir? I was never musically talented.
7. Were you a nerd? Who is going to say yes? I don't think I was a nerd, but ask my high school buds.
8. Were you on varsity teams? I wasn't great at sports either. I think you have to have coordination.
9. Did you ever get suspended/expelled? No, I was good.
10. Can you still sing the fight song? No.
11. Who were your favorite teachers? Cramer, Jeff Wyatt
12. What was your school's full name? Tooele High School
13. School mascot? White Buffalo
14. Did you go to the Homecoming dance and with who? Yes, with Russ Sacre.
15. If you could go back again, would you? Um, No.
16. What do you remember most about graduation? I graduated a year early when I was a Junior, so I didn't want to go to the senior party. So my sister and I went clubbing at Area 57 in Salt Lake.
17. Where did you go senior skip day? Like I said, I was a Junior, so I didn't have a senior skip day.
18. Were you in a club? Uh, just Youth City Council
19. Have you gained weight since then? Of course, I've had 2 kids.
20. Who was your prom date? Steve Espinoza from Grantsville, then I went to prom after I graduated with Garrett Halligan (because his girlfriend broke up with him 2 days before prom, and we were friends, so I got a nice date out of it).
21. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion? I don't know. They really make me feel like I'm in High School again, which is something I don't really want to relive.
22. Looking back, what advice would you give yourself? You were way more awesome then you gave yourself credit for. And maybe I wish I would have dated guys in high school instead of out of high school, I probably would have had more fun.

I tag everyone who reads this and hasn't done it already.

Park/Girls Night

Everyone should go to Veterans Memorial Park in West Jordan if you've never been. It is awesome! Britni and I took lunch and played at the park. We had a great time.
The Park
Ryan with a girl that was hanging around him.
Ryan and Kyle
Ryan loved this digging thing.
Liz (my brother's wife aka my sister-in-law), Me (me), and Summer (my sister). We totally went Roller Skating! It was a blast. It was ages 5- 13 night apparently. When they played snowball we thought we ought to stop skating. We didn't want to break a 9 year old's heart when we told them we were married.

Our ghetto fabulous skates.
Me Liz Summer
Summer and I taking a rest.
After skating we went to Wal-Mart and had a super duper good time. Here are Liz and I.
Liz and I with the door greeter. He was a good sport.

Showing our muscles, well, they were. It looks like I was showing my constipation.

So I of course had to climb in the cart. After wal-mart we went to Wendy's and did a dance (if you want to see the dance in the car, go to my sister in law's blog, Jud & Liz). Then the girls came back to my house and Ben was super nice and slept with Ryan while the 3 of us slept in my king size bed. We had a great time!

Bond, Ben Bond

(I'll explain title in a few) Last Friday night we went to our friend Casey's wedding reception in Bountiful. These are just pictures from the reception.
Casey's younger sister is my sister-in-law Liz. She looked great!
We tried to get a family picture but Ryan is against pictures when he is not in the mood.
Me, Ethan and Liz
Ryan was begging to see the water fountain out front, so here in Ben, Ethan, and Ryan in front of it.
So after the reception Ryan was having a mild allergic reaction to something he ate, but me being a bad mother did not pack his medicine in my purse (I swear I did, but apparently not) so we had to stop at a grocery store to get Claritin. Ben got out of the car (the parking lot was very dark) and sung the James Bond music and ducked and rolled out and around the vehicles in the parking lot, then I saw him stand up strait, looking embarrassed and walked into the store. He said he was ducking by a car with his fake finger gun and noticed people waiting in their car looking at him funny. When Ben came out he told me the funny story, and gave me these flowers he saw in the store. So sweet!

Ethan in his car seat after the reception.
Ben and I went to Tooele for a date Saturday night and had my parents watch the boys. We had a great time. These are my boys when we picked them up from Grandma and Grandpa Harris' house. I have to say, Ben is a hottie! Thanks mom and dad for watching the boys. Dad, I hope you have your baby (I mean pass your kidney stone) soon! OUCH!

Happy First Ethan!

Ethan turned 1 on Sunday, October 5th. I can't believe my baby is 1. We had an awesome party with family on Sunday after Conference. He had his 1 year check up today with Dr. Duffy. He is a small little boy. He's only gained 2 pound since he was 6 months old. Dr. Duffy told me to feed him sour cream and butter his bread. He is barely 20 pounds, so we were able to put him in the big boy car seat. Which he loves, except for trying to fall asleep sitting up.
Here he is in his second favorite spot in the kitchen. The lid drawer.
His first favorite spot. The dishwasher. Ouch, could you imagine trying to climb in there?
Trying out the forward facing car seat.
This is what Ethan got from Ben, Ryan and I. We put Ethan on the floor at Target and this is what he played with most. It's a musical/learning table thing.
So cute!

Sorry for the blurry picture, but this was the sweet pork I made. It was fabulous. If you want the recipe just ask. We had sweet pork tacos.
Dad Clegg
Jake and Shayla (now dialated to a 1.5ish way to go. Shayla is, not Jake).
Ethan's cake I made. It's not the cutest, but I at least I made it right?
Ethan opening Jake and Shayla's gift.

Opening Grandma Linda and Grandpa Bob's gift. He really did love the paper the most.
Cousin Raygan playing with Ethan's table.
Opening Grandma & Grandpa Harris' gift.
The start of the cake eating.
So civilized with the spoon. He chose to eat with that instead of his hands.

My Mom, Dad, and my Grandma Reese.
All of my super cool sister-in-laws (on Ben's side of the family anyway). Maren, Liz, Kandis, Shayla, Me, and Shalleece. We did not all plan on wearing white (except for Maren). Funny huh?
Getting messier.
Mom Clegg eating her cake.
Ethan's "bath" in the kitchen sink after eating his cake.

We all had a great time eating, socializing, watching a few episodes of Season Four of The Office, playing air hockey, and eating some more. (I pretty much just ran around like a chicken with her head cut off...isn't entertaining like that? You're too busy making sure everyone else is happy to really enjoy the party?) Anyway, Ethan's birthday was great. He is such a sweet little boy. I love that he has a hard time going to people and he still clings onto mom and dad. He has been a great baby, and I'm glad I went through an awful pregnancy to get him here. He really has been a blessing in our lives.

p.s. we gave Ethan his first glass of chocolate milk on his birthday so we had him wear a shirt that said, "conserve water, drink chocolate milk". This morning Ryan decided to get up early and make Ethan a glass of chocolate milk with a sippy lid and everything and run in his room yelling, "Ethan, wake up, I made you chocolate milk". It was sweet even if Ryan woke him up.
