We've been trying to go camping with Wade and Catherine Reed for a couple months now and it has never worked out (one or both of us have been busy). So we decided instead of taking a weekend we would go up on Sunday night and have a dutch oven dinner. We invited Wade's cousin Britni Lively and her family also (Britni is also in my ward). It was really fun being in the mountains with good friends. I hope Catherine posts the picture of her little Johnathon eating the dirt, that was so funny! Anyway, the dinner was fabulous and the smores were delicious. Thanks to Ben for making the dutch oven dinner and the baked beans (my favorite).

We were in Butterfield canyon and my sister had her 4th of July party the same night as the Dutch oven dinner, so we went up and over Butterfield into Middle canyon to go to Tooele for Fireworks at my sister's house. This was the view at the top.Here were some deer right at the top on the Tooele side.

Ben does baked beans? Oooohh baby, bring 'em on! I luvvvvv baked beans. We feel like such slackers that we haven't seen you guys in way too long! We leave for OR tomorrow, we get back the 12th, so let's get together soon after that! We miss you!
I'm game for another "camping trip" anytime! That was seriously the best way to camp...all the yummy food and fun with friends without having to sleep on the ground. It was nice to be able to go home and sleep in my own comfy bed. haha Jon really was a hoot covered in dirt like that! It may be a week or so before I post those pics because I have some other pics to post first since I've been behind, but stay tuned, okay? ;)
