Today my boys had chocolate chip cookie dough for the first time. As most of you know my boys are allergic to eggs, so I actually found out how to substitute the eggs. I don't know why I didn't do this before. So if anyone needs an egg substitute here it is: 2 Tbs applesauce = 1 egg
It actually worked! And it didn't taste funny. The cookies were not quite as fluffy, but they still tasted really good. Ryan and Ethan both loved the cookie dough and were so excited I actually let them have some. I had Ryan help me make them so he could see for himself that I didn't put eggs in them. Yea for applesauce!

That's awesome! It would be so hard to be allergic to something that is such a common ingredient. I'm glad you found a way to let your boys have some yummy cookie dough!! :-)
That is wonderful! How great that they can have such a traditional childhood thing; it would be such a bummer otherwise! Yay for applesauce! I had used it as a substitute for oil in cakes before, but I'd never heard of for eggs. That is just great.
Hey and they are probably so much healthier too! :) I am going to have to try it! I think the cookie dough is the best part and it does make me nervous to eat it with raw eggs in it!
That is good to know! I have heard you can substitute applesauce in several things but never tried it (now I will have to)!
I am actually not sure if they are engaged or what.. Lol. They are kinda weird.
