Ben and I are huge fan of the show Arrested Development. The mom on the show, Lucille Bluth or Jessica Walter is always dressed up. I know it's just a TV show, but do women out there really get "dressed" up every day?
The reason I ask: I did not get "dressed up" like Lucille today, but I did put on nice jeans and a fancy looking sweater (because it's freaking cold in MAY!). I even added jewelry!
So after I got home from picking up Ryan from preschool he said he wanted a Popsicle. I got the Otter Pops out of the freezer and found them stuck together so some of them did not get frozen all the way. I tried to pull out the color Ryan wanted and SPLASH! Sticky purple sugar water landed all over my jeans, sweater, hair, face (with make up on), floor, and all over Ryan. I now have a stained sweater and white undershirt...
So THAT'S why when I answer the door on a normal day, I am wearing my workout pants, and an old t-shirt!

I hear ya. I have officially sworn off bleach in my house because no matter how careful I am with it... I always find it on my favorite shirt, rug, etc. I only have a bleach pen which is only used in extreme cases. Anyway, you can't even wear anything but paint stained crap when cleaning and who has the energy to look cute everyday. It is my plan however to start doing that everyday someday when the kids are older :) I haven't showered and I am sitting in sweats because today was clean the house day and so there ya go... don't come visit me though because I won't answer the door, lol.
Ah Kelly, you make me laugh! I thought for sure you were one of those moms who always look cute and dressed up...??? Every time I see you (even at Target) you look so cute. Maybe we should see you more so we can get a more accurate portrayal of your 'normal clothes'. =) We need to have a BBQ and have you over to swim sometime.
I loved this post!! You wouldn't believe how many people around my neighborhood are decked to the nine everyday...what the h???? They think I'm a frump. I totally agree. a pair of jeans and a clean shirt are the best you get from me. I think its a waste of perfectly good sleep to get up every morning and shower, do make-up, and get all dressed. (i sound like a hobo :). I'm actually off to the shower. Its been three days since I've washed my hair, GASP!!!!
I love Arrested Development as well. I haven't finished the first season yet though. Oh well, I will someday.
Ha ha, that's too funny. I haven't watched that show before, but it sounds funny. I do try to get "ready" every day, but that doesn't mean a suit dress or anything! ;-)

Glad to know that I am not the only mom who hangs out in her work out pants and t-shirt all day long. That is my normal wear these days. Loved the post...it made me smile.
