Make it a good one!

This is probably lame, but do it anyway. I think it will be fun to see what you (anyone who reads this) say!

What do you remember about me?

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, or if you just met me, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Alone Time

Baby mama movieSo I've had a rough couple of days. My boys seem to know when their daddy goes out of town. They get really cranky when he is gone. I had to put Ryan in Time Out about 12 times. And every time I did he kicked his closet door saying, "I hate you, I hate you". There were also other things that made it a bad day, but I just won't mention them on my blog. Needless to say, I needed a break. Ben texted me on his way home and told me I should go to a movie with a friend or something when he got home. Well, since I didn't know who to call I decided to go to a movie by myself. I don't know if you've ever done this, you gain a self assurance when you go up to the ticket booth and say, "One ticket for Baby Mama please". While everyone else is getting at least 2. The person in front of me got 7 tickets. When I was in the theater it was getting a little full, so 3 girls came in and were coaxing one another to go sit by me, they were whispering, no I don't want to (I'm sure they were thinking, I don't want to sit by the freaky girl who goes to a movie by herself). Anyway, it was actually SO nice to go by myself and have alone time. It was a good movie to go see to make me appreciate the kids I have. Even though they drive me nuts at times, I love them. And I couldn't imagine my life without them. On my way home I turned up my CD really loud in the car and belted out SheDaisy, my favorite feel good music. You don't get to do that with kids in the car. Thanks Ben for sending me out all alone. It felt good!!

Shayla's Shower

Liz, Kandis, Mom Clegg and I threw a baby shower for Shayla at my house on Saturday. She got a lot of really cute stuff. I'm glad everyone drove from Tooele to come. We had Cesar Salad, bread sticks, grapes, and soda. And Liz made a tasty dessert. Right before the shower Maren accidentally hit her forehead on the trunk of the car so Mom, Liz, and Maren missed the shower and went to Insta care for stitches. We're glad Maren is okay. Here is a picture of them joining the shower after it ended.

Ethan fell asleep in the high chair during his dinner. Poor guy.

Playing in the dishwasher is his new favorite thing to do. Ben and I were standing next to each other in the kitchen and Ethan was crawling towards us, Ben said, "let's see who he chooses". Well, he crawled right past both of us to the open dishwasher.

4th of July

The 4th of July is my second favorite holiday next to Christmas. I love the hot weather (if I'm not pregnant), I love BBQ's and hanging out with family outside. Summertime makes me happy! This year we went to Ben's Grandpa Chuck's house and had his famous hamburgers. Then he had the Deseret Peak pool in Tooele reserved from 8pm to 10pm. The fireworks started at 9:30 this year so we just watched from the pool. At Grandpa's we all shot the potato gun, they claim my potato went the highest, but I'll be honest, I couldn't even see the thing. At the pool Ryan went down the water slide all by himself with Ben at the bottom to catch him. We had a very fun time, and we're grateful Grandpa gets the pool for us!

Kelly, Shayla, and Ethan
Phoebe (I hope I'm spelling her name right), Ethan, and Raygan. Phoebe is Ben's aunt Annette's little girl, and Raygan is Ben's brother Rob's little girl. Phoebe and Ethan were born an hour apart. And Raygan is 2 months older than them.

At Deseret Peak Pool. Liz, Rick, and my mom came over for the fireworks. I was grateful she was there helping while Ben was playing with his brothers.

On our way home across highway 201 from the Magna golf course a fire started. It was HUGE. It took down at least 15 power poles that I saw, and just kept spreading. I assume it was from the fireworks but I'm not sure. It was an amazing site. I hope no one got hurt! It sure woke us up for the rest of our drive home at 11:30pm.

City or Country?

Do you ever wonder where the better place to live is? Do you like the hustle and bustle of the city, the lights, the noise, the entertainment? Or do you prefer the slow pace, the relaxation, the quiet of the country? All I know is I haven't decided. I love being so close to Target, Wal-mart, Harmons, and (do I dare say) the mall. But at the same time, I go to the country and I love the wide spaces. I love being able to see as far as your eyes can see. I don't like the fact that it is always a competition in the city of who has their kids in the coolest preschool, or how many sports does your kid play, can you kids color in the lines yet? In the country no one cares. Kids can be kids and not be pressured into doing anything more than that. As you can see, we went on a trip to Faust, UT to visit Aunt Liz (Ben's sister) and Uncle Rick. Rick has been promising Ryan a Tractor ride. Ryan wasn't feeling very well, so he doesn't look so happy, but he really was excited to be on the tractor. Liz and Rick made hamburgers for us, they were delicious. Liz made a homemade BBQ sauce that they put on their hamburgers, I'll have to get the recipe and post it because I don't think I can ever eat another hamburger without that sauce on it!
Family picture in front of the horses. I look terrible by the way, I was cleaning my house all day and had to run a million errands, so I never actually showered (yes, I'm admitting that on my blog, get over it).
Liz feeding the new colt.

Star, the horse (yep, that's not a cow).

We appreciate Liz and Rick having us out to their home, it was fun!

"Camping" with friends

Sorry for all the landscape pictures, but I love sunsets and nice views. Here is another picture of a sunset out my mom's backyard in Stansbury Park. Beautiful!
We've been trying to go camping with Wade and Catherine Reed for a couple months now and it has never worked out (one or both of us have been busy). So we decided instead of taking a weekend we would go up on Sunday night and have a dutch oven dinner. We invited Wade's cousin Britni Lively and her family also (Britni is also in my ward). It was really fun being in the mountains with good friends. I hope Catherine posts the picture of her little Johnathon eating the dirt, that was so funny! Anyway, the dinner was fabulous and the smores were delicious. Thanks to Ben for making the dutch oven dinner and the baked beans (my favorite).

Britni, Aaron, Kyle, Catherine, Johnathon, Emily and Wader Potater. Notice Wade's awesome boy scout fire he built.
Cute little Ethan and Ben.
We were in Butterfield canyon and my sister had her 4th of July party the same night as the Dutch oven dinner, so we went up and over Butterfield into Middle canyon to go to Tooele for Fireworks at my sister's house. This was the view at the top.

Here were some deer right at the top on the Tooele side.
Middle Canyon sunset! Can't get enough of them.

Britni and Catherine: let's do that again!
