The Kanga

The Kanga...sounds like a dance...maybe like the Tango?
Now that Ben is working and back in school again we hardly see him (I'd rather it be this way then not have a job though). So I decided we needed some family time Friday night. We met Ben at work off of North Temple and Redwood Rd. then drove (in the thick fog) to North Salt Lake to the Kangaroo Zoo (thanks for the idea Catherine & Britni).

Here is Ryan checking it out. I highly recommend going on a Friday night at 5 or 5:30 because it's not busy (the birthday parties started coming in around 6:30 or so). The place is way more fun when you have it to yourself.

Ethan was a little unsure of what to think.

Ethan looks terrified going down the big slide. I can only imagine how big it must seem to him though. He eventually warmed up to the place and loved it.

I love this picture...Ryan looks so cute. He had a great time and got all his wiggles out.

There is air coming out of that cone and Ethan would put the ball up there himself and hit the ball, it was so cute! I got it on video but I'm not sure if I'll be able to load it.

We all had a great time. There was an East Coast Subs next door and we went there after and had Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches...they were the best!! We will definitely be doing this again as a Friday night activity.
P.S. if you're going to go from Riverton, the Pleasant Grove one would be closer to get to. We just went to North Salt Lake because Ben works up there (and now we know there is an East Coast Subs...Yum).

The Messy Stuff

Yes, I realize this picture is disgusting. This is what it looks like when I take 2 boys to an all you can eat restaurant. My grandma takes us out to Golden Corral once and a while and we love it! It's the only place you can have spaghetti, mashed potatoes, meatloaf, jello, and cottage cheese on one plate...with a heaping side of ice cream.

We got 2 offers on our home in 3 days! One of them low balled us and we said no, the other one was above our listed price, but they wanted us out in 1 week and we took it. So here are some of the boxes I packed (well, my family came and helped). Then we found out a couple days ago that the lady buying our home lost her job that day. So our house is back on the market and I had to hide all the boxes and get my house spotless clean again. What a mess! I sure hope it sells soon, I don't know how much of this I can take.

Ben and my brother Brant were playing guitar hero during one of my dad's precious football games so he had to watch it in Ryan's "house". Hilarious!

For playgroup we went to the Fire Station. The kids had a blast. Here is Ryan and his friend Caleb in the Station waiting to get tour.

Looking at the truck with the Fireman who drives it.

Ryan and Kyle were able to ride in the firetruck while they pulled it out of the garage. Ryan thought that was awesome!

I did not realize we had so many boys in our ward. Here they are in front in the truck, minus Ethan (he was in my arms).

We're excited to move to Tooele (hopefully soon) so we can have Nigh Time Donuts whenever we want!! Yum!

(For you Tooeleians...yes I'm sure that's spelled wrong) Keep your eyes open for a home or a lot and let us know about it!

What The...?

I'm sure some of you have noticed we have a "For Sale" sign in front of our home. No, it is not a mistake. Yes, we are trying to move. So here is the short story. With Ben's new job at Pacificorp being in downtown Salt Lake, the commute to Riverton in traffic is terrible. We've always wanted to live in Tooele/Stansbury/Erda/Grantsville by both of our family's, but Ben's old job was in Draper and it didn't make sense. So here is our chance to be where we really want to live. And for the gossipers, no we are not in the poor house...Yes we love our neighbors...Yes we love our home...Kind of sad to go...But really excited to go at the same time. We realize the market sucks, so we may just end up staying if we can't sell. We also realize if we do sell, we'd be able to get a home while the interest rates are insanely low. So here's to our new adventure (this is where we tap our wine glasses together if we drank wine). Wish us luck! Here is a picture I threw in. We just finished our bathroom downstairs and I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.

p.s. Please don't steal our fliers in front of our home unless you're interested in buying it. :-) (If I find out you stole one, don't worry, I'll still be your friend) Love to all...!

Can I do the dishes?

Some more of my Fiesta Dishes arrived today (2 sets came broken and have to be returned again). Don't they look great? I actually wanted to do the dishes tonight after dinner because seeing all the awesome colors made me happy!

Ryan wanted to help me vacuum today. He vacuumed the first floor until he got by the kitchen and accidentally vacuumed a rug. It made a terribly loud noise and he cried and ran to his bedroom. I felt so bad, I had to go comfort him and tell him that I've done that before too. And tell him it was okay to be scared of a loud noise like that. Then he said he's never vacuuming again...Dang those loud noises!! (he picked out his jammies, sponge bob pants and football top).

This is the first time Ethan let me put the DVD headphones on him in the car. He was watching "The Incredibles". So cute! I should try putting mascara on his eyelashes, they're so long!

The Breakfast Pepsi

Every New Years Day we go with Ben's family to Virg's in Erda for breakfast, then to a movie. This year Ryan went to the movie with Grandma and Grandpa by himself because Ethan does not sit through movies. Anyway, here are pictures of the Clegg family at breakfast. This is Maren, Ryan, Mom Clegg, and Dad Clegg.

Liz, Rick, me, and Ethan

Jake, Shayla, Lane, Sam and Shalleece.

Raygan, Kandis, Rob, Marshall, and Peter.

I was busy feeding Ethan so I told Ben to go around and take pictures (he hates pictures, and thinks I live for taking pictures for my blog...it's true, but so what!) Anyway, he thought he was so funny because these are the pictures he took. He said he was being "artsy".

Yes, I drank a Pepsi with my breakfast burrito. Nice eh?

Manikin Nipples?

New Years Eve we went to Cafe Rio as a family then had friends come over to play the Wii. We had a great time and really enjoyed keeping it low key this year. Last year we made homemade Cafe Rio burritos and spent $80 dollars and it took 2 days to make, so we decided to spend $20 and go and it only took 5 minutes for them to make.

Ryan boxing. He beats us all. (those are cold sores on his mouth...I do bathe my children).

Ben and I went to Modern Display to look for a mirror (what a rip off, we went to Wal-mart instead). These were some nice manikins upstairs by the bathrooms. Can you believe they put nipples on the girls? Why does a manikin need nipples? Why don't they put a ball sack on for the guys, it's just as necessary. (can I say ball sack on a blog?)

My in-laws are in love with Bosch everything...Tools and Kitchen stuff. So this picture is of a cool new store in South Jordan they should come check out.

The Harris Family

Ethan waiting his turn to bowl.

We went bowling with Ben's cousin Lindsay and her family, and Jake and Shayla after Christmas. We had a super time.

Ryan and Ben bowling. I would like to say I'm proud to have gotten a score of 30! I am a really great bowler.

Christmas 2008

These pictures are from Christmas morning. The pictures towards the bottom are of Christmas Eve. They're a little out of order. We had a great Christmas this year. I think we really appreciated being with family more than other years with the scare of a move and losing a job. We really enjoyed ourselves. We usually go to both families on Christmas Eve and Christmas, and both grandparents on Christmas also. This year we went to just my parent's for Christmas Eve in Stansbury Park. We stayed home Christmas morning and went to Ben's parent's Christmas night in Tooele. The picture below is of me with my awesome new Fiestaware my mother-in-law gave me. She has been collecting it for a long time, and I am going to start. I'm really excited about it. Anyway, the picture above is of our Christmas breakfast (Eggs Benedict, hash browns and ham for my boys who are allergic to eggs) on my new dishes. I'm all about multi-colored!

Ethan eating a candy cane before breakfast.

Ryan Ethan and cousin Jaxon playing with a toy on Christmas Eve.

I never liked Star Wars, but Ethan looks like someone from that movie right? My mom made all the grand kids robes for Christmas Eve. We have a tradition of opening and wearing new pajamas that night.

Kelly, Ben and Ethan (Ryan refused to be in the picture)

Ryan and Grandma Harris. Ryan is such a handsome little dude!

We had a wonderful Christmas and hope you all did too. I'm sad to see it end. Alright, back to the Sugar Bowl... Go Utes!
